We often think we’re always right and rarely accept correction. Anyone who tries to correct us is seen as an enemy.

We love singing in church, but we neglect reading our Bibles at home.

Our relationships are full of lust, sensuality, and emotions, which we mistakenly call love.

We dream of having wonderful marriages, but by age 25, many of us have already spent nearly ten years in relationships. We may have had more boyfriends or girlfriends than our parents ever did.

Sexual activities have become a common part of our relationships, and we justify them by calling them romance.

We want to be rich, but we spend our money on the latest gadgets—iPads, iPhones, laptops, cameras—often using less than 30% of their functions.

We don’t pay our tithes and offerings, claiming that we’re just students or only receive allowances, not salaries.

We say we’re Christian women, but we dress like Hollywood stars and call it fashion.

We love pleasures more than we love God.

In church, you’ll see us with our hands lifted in worship, but on our phones, we have pictures of naked or half-naked women and secular hip-hop music, and we find clever ways to justify it.

We are rarely convicted when we go to church because our hearts have been hardened by sin and pride’s deceitfulness.

But God foresaw this and warned us in 2 Timothy 3: In the last days, people will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—having a form of godliness but denying its power.

My Little Advice:

Test yourselves to make sure you are solid in the faith. Don’t drift along, taking everything for granted. Give yourselves regular checkups. You need firsthand evidence, not just hearsay, that Jesus Christ is in you. Test it out. If you fail the test, do something about it (2 Corinthians 13:5-6, MSG).
